Draft for review. This policy is a template and is not final. It will be checked before Ironjolt publishes a game.
Privacy policy
This policy explains what data Ironjolt games and the ironjolt.com website collect, why, and what choices you have.
1. Who we are
Ironjolt is an independent games studio run by Shay Yosef in Israel. Shay Yosef (Ironjolt) is the controller of the data described here. Contact: hello@ironjolt.com.
2. This website
ironjolt.com sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. It loads nothing from other companies. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare keeps standard server and access logs, which include basic technical data such as your IP address, to deliver and protect the site. It handles and keeps these logs under its own policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
3. No account
Our games do not ask you to create an account. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number or address in the game.
4. Data our games collect
- Gameplay events: for example, levels started and finished, session length and in-game choices.
- Device information: device model, operating system version and language.
- Approximate country, worked out from your IP address. We do not collect precise location.
- App version, so we know which build you are playing.
- Advertising identifier (Google Advertising ID on Android, Apple IDFA on iOS where you allow it), used for ads and install attribution in our Android and iOS games, as described below.
5. Ads (Google AdMob)
Our native Android and iOS games may show ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may use your advertising identifier and device information to show ads and measure them.
- Personalized or not: ads may be personalized to your interests only where the law allows it and you agree. Otherwise you see non-personalized ads, which use only limited data such as the game and your approximate location.
- Consent: in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland we ask for your consent with Google's consent tool (Google UMP, using the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework). On iOS, Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt asks before the IDFA can be used. You can change your choice at any time in the in-game settings.
- Reset or limit your ad ID: on Android, go to Settings, then Privacy (or Google), then Ads, and delete or reset the advertising ID. On iOS, go to Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Tracking.
- Learn how Google uses data from apps that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
6. Analytics (GameAnalytics)
All our games use GameAnalytics to collect gameplay events, device information and app version, as listed in section 4. It helps us find levels that are too hard or too easy and fix problems.
7. Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
In our native Android and iOS games, if a game crashes, it may send a crash report through Google's Firebase Crashlytics: the error details, device model, operating system version and app version. We use it only to find and fix bugs.
8. Install attribution (Tenjin)
At a later stage, our native Android and iOS games will use Tenjin to measure which ad campaign, if any, led to an install. Tenjin may use your advertising identifier (where you allow it) and device information for this. The consent choices in section 5 apply.
9. In-app purchases
Our games do not currently offer in-app purchases. If we add them, purchases will be handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We would receive a confirmation of the purchase (such as product, time and transaction ID), and never your card or payment details.
10. Children
Our games are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us data, email hello@ironjolt.com and we will delete it.
11. Your rights in the EU and UK (GDPR)
We rely on these lawful bases:
- Consent for personalized ads and, where the law requires it, install attribution. You can withdraw it at any time.
- Legitimate interests for crash reports and gameplay analytics, to keep the games working and improve them.
- Contract to deliver in-app purchases, if we offer them.
You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, or object to or restrict how we use it. Email hello@ironjolt.com. You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority, for example in the country where you live.
12. Your rights in California (CCPA)
- We do not sell your personal information.
- You can ask to know what personal information we hold about you and ask us to delete it.
- You can opt out of the sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Choose non-personalized ads in the in-game settings, or limit your ad ID as described in section 5.
- We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
13. Sharing
We share data only with these service providers, for the purposes in this policy, or when the law requires it:
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website.
- GameAnalytics, for gameplay analytics in all our games.
- Google, for ads (AdMob) and crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) in our Android and iOS games.
- Tenjin, for install attribution in our Android and iOS games, at a later stage.
- Apple and Google, which run the App Store and Google Play, where you download our games.
14. Retention
Gameplay, analytics, attribution and crash data is kept as long as needed for the purposes described, then deleted or anonymised. Data stored on your device is removed when you uninstall the game.
15. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No method of transfer or storage is completely secure.
16. Changes
We may update this policy. We will change the effective date above and, for important changes, tell you in the game.
17. Contact
